Denise Dixon has been a vibrant presence in the hair industry since 1990, owning two salons in Philadelphia and one in South Jersey. Early in her career, she noticed that many salons used the word "beauty" in their names, implying that beauty was something to be attained. Denise chose a different path, naming her salons without the word "beauty" to emphasize that her clients were already beautiful. In 1995, after being inspired by a client's stunning Sisterlocks, Denise adopted the style herself, transforming her approach to her business. Two years later, she became a certified Sisterlocks consultant and one of the first Master Trainers for the system.

Today, Denise is a dedicated educator and mentor, committed to teaching the art of locking and promoting natural hair care. Her work has empowered countless individuals to embrace their natural beauty and develop a deeper understanding of healthy hair practices. Denise’s journey is a testament to her belief in the inherent beauty of every person, embodying the African proverb, "When my sister is doing my hair, I don't need a mirror."
